Tim Hortons Annual Smile Cookie fundraiser


September 19, 2011 – Cambridge, ON –There are even more smiling faces in Cambridge. While supplies last, Tim Hortons guests can purchase a special smiling chocolate chip cookie for $1.00 plus taxes and all proceeds will be donated to Nutrition For Learning.


“Tim Hortons is thrilled to share smiles with Nutrition For Learning through our annual Smile Cookie fundraiser,” says Dwayne and Cheryl McGlinchey, Tim Hortons Restaurant Owners.  “The success of the program would not be possible without the support and generosity of our community. On behalf of all the Cambridge Tim Hortons Owners and team members, I would like to thank all our guests for their continued support of this meaningful cause.”


Now in its13th year, Tim Hortons generous customers have helped to raise more than $483,000 for Nutrition for Learning, with funds directed towards the development and support of breakfast, morning meal and lunch programs throughout Waterloo Region.


“With the funds generated through the Smile Cookie Campaign we have been able to increase the numbers of children we serve.   We are extremely grateful for their generosity!” remarked Kelly-Sue Labus, Executive Director Nutrition for Learning.


About Nutrition for Learning

Nutrition for Learning has been a registered charitable organization since 1997.  Our mission is to enhance a student’s ability to learn by ensuring that each child and youth goes to school well nourished.  Nutrition for learning currently supports 130 community based breakfast, morning meal and lunch programs impacting over 9,000 children daily.  Approximately 600 dedicated volunteers coordinate student nutrition programs in elementary and secondary schools throughout Waterloo Region.
