A death in the family reunites the Mercer family under less than ideal circumstances. Estranged son, Ben, returns home after a two year absence to find his mother and Uncle Wilf, trying to sustain his father. A heart attack has forced Jacob out of work and he can’t recondile himself to his frightening situation. Everyone in the play has something to discover about himself, under the pressure of imminent death. A beautifully written Canadian story about overcoming the painful barriers between a father and son. “Worthy and convincing. Line by line, scene by scene, it as above reproach.” – The New York Times.
