Food at School Says We All Belong.

A Historic Moment for School Food in Canada

Let's design a future we can all feel proud of.

In 2024, Canada's federal government announced a long-awaited vision for school food for children and youth across the nation.

For many years, Canada was the only G7 nation in the world without a national policy on how we're supporting students through nourishment in the school day. We're living in a time of exciting progress for young people in Canada, and we'd love your input in designing shifts that are right for Waterloo Region students and families.

The The National School Food Program is a vision that includes some additional funding and resources available to organizations like Nutrition for Learning. While we still primarily rely on funding from the community, the NSFP gives us an exciting opportunity to work with all school board partners in Waterloo Region to pilot new models of supporting students through meals at school.

Everyone 18+ is welcome to complete this very short survey below.

Students will be surveyed through other platforms. If you're under 18 and want to ensure your voice is heard, please ask your parent or guardian to reach out to us here.
